General description


The Bilingual Japanese Analyst, Merchant Monitoring role is responsible for analyzing merchants who are offering risky — or even illegal — products and services, and reporting this analysis to our clients, the payment providers supporting the merchants’ sales transactions. This is fast-paced work producing multiple short written reports. Although payments industry experience is welcome, this is an entry-level position with the potential for growth within the company, and a great opportunity to develop a career in payments and risk detection.


What You'll Do:

  • Analyze merchant risk using website information and other available resources
  • Summarize risk findings in clear, concise written reporting
  • Identify new trends in merchant behavior, and share these with team members to further collective awareness

  • Exhibit a growth mindset by being open to feedback, embracing change as an opportunity

What You'll Bring:

  • Fluency in Japanese and English languages, in both oral and written communication
  • Ability to work in a dynamic market with a continuous improvement mindset 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fantastic attention to detail 
  • Comfortable receiving and providing feedback
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to use good judgment and make sound independent decisions
  • Insatiable curiosity and a love for pattern recognition
  • Well-developed ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write English
  • 4-year college or university degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience is highly desired
