Role Overview

This opportunity is to be a founding member of Miter Benefits, one of the fastest growing product offerings that Miter has launched. As the Benefits Consultant Lead, you’ll play a critical role in scaling our benefits brokerage, which is showing early signs of strong traction among our clients. We see high potential for this offering to become a key engine of customer growth, and we're looking for a self-starting leader to help us capture that opportunity. You'll work directly with clients to deliver exceptional service while building the foundational processes that will enable this business to scale sustainably over time.

Responsibilities 

  • Drive and book sales pipeline through two key avenues:

    • Outbound: Engage Miter’s existing customer base, educating them on the brokerage offering and converting them into clients.

    • Inbound: Collaborate with the GTM team to attract and onboard new clients, expanding Miter’s brokerage footprint.

  • Work alongside our general agencies to service brokerage customer base

    • Addressing day-to-day client questions as they relate to coverage

    • Leading consultations for our clients to determine best set of plan options

    • Presenting at client open enrollment meetings

Qualifications

  • Relentless drive to pursue opportunities, close deals, and exceed targets

  • Deep commitment to providing client service and building long-lasting relationships

  • 3+ years of experience as a licensed health benefits advisor

    • Deep understanding of group insurance (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, etc.)

    • Familiarity with plan design and contribution modeling with experience advising clients on plan selection, renewals, and compliance

Interview Process:

Our interview process is thorough — we aim to ensure each person that joins the team is the right fit for Miter and will provide ample information for you to assess if Miter is the right fit for you. The general interview process at Miter will consist of the following steps:

  • Recruiter Screen - 30 minutes

  • Hiring Manager Interview - 30 minutes

  • Take Home Assignment - 60 minutes

  • 1:1's with the Team - 30-60 minutes
