Job Description

The People Operations Team at Jazz is a team of curious, continuously learning problem-solvers with a passion for creating a superb employee experience. The team works harmoniously together, with other HR functions and with customers to provide frictionless processes. The People Operations Benefits Admin & Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist will report to the People Operations Hub Leader for either North America or UK / EU. This role is responsible for high value service delivery to Jazz managers and employees through the hub. They act as a generalist to solve employee issues across a variety of HR functional areas but will also hold a critical role specializing in Benefits Administration and LOA partnering with the Total Rewards team in HR.  

Essential Functions

  • Act as a liaison, provide HR information, answer questions, and resolve any emerging problems employees might face with accuracy and efficiency

  • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers always

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries

  • Listen first to identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction, ensuring follow-up where necessary

  • Individualize the customer experience and actively build trusted relationships

  • Maintain a strong level of general HR knowledge regarding the AskHR platform, service catalogue and escalation process for more complex queries

  • Work together with others within the team, openly share knowledge and create a continuous learning environment for all

  • Communicate with customers through various channels (chat, email, webform, etc.) adapting to customer preference

  • Provide accurate, valid, and complete ticket tracking and information using the methods and tools provided

  • Consistently collect customer feedback, track, and utilize data to improve process and customer experience

  • Build on existing HR knowledge platform when opportunities appear to continuously enhance opportunities for customer self-service

  • Maintain a high level of digital savviness and be able to coach employees on the use of tools available

  • Think proactively about customer needs based on historical trends and find solutions to get in front of high volumes

  • Meet or exceed productivity targets and service level agreements

  • Work collaboratively within the team and the HR function to deliver effective and joined-up support to managers and employees

  • Think innovatively about new ideas and solutions to enhance employee experience

  • Take ownership of specific processes and drive execution and continuous improvement

  • Participate in projects related to HR transformation, continuous improvement or company-wide growth or evolution

Specialty Functions

Benefits Administration:

  • ​Support end-to-end benefits administration for North America 

  • ​Partner with key stakeholders to meet all deliverables and provide optimal experience to employees 

  • ​Process all benefits contracts and financial payments and reconciliations  

  • ​Support development of employee communication material via AskHR and ensure effective communications around education of benefits  

  • ​Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations, required filings, and audits for all US health and welfare and retirement plans such as Form 5500 filings, distribution of Summary Annual Reports, Summary Plan Descriptions, Summaries of Benefits and Coverage, and other required notices. Lead annual 401(k) plan audit 

  • ​Support all components of annual open enrollment process 

  • ​Partner on execution of new benefits and plan design changes

  • ​Create and maintain benefit process documentation for HR Operations Team to support benefit inquiries 

Leave of Absence:

  • Manage coordination and administration of leave of absence process and policies for North America

  • Maintain accurate data in Workday for all continues and intermittent leave requests

  • Coordinates bi-weekly payroll leave payments status with Jazz Payroll team (US and Canada)

  • Manages escalated leave scenarios, lack of documentation, extension of leave, etc with Jazz Leave Administrator, HR, and payroll

  • Partners with Jazz Leave Administrator on compliance and interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers’ compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits

  • Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from FMLA, disability leave, workers’ compensation, or other leave(s)

  • Facilitates other leave related or disability related requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA

  • Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices

  • Support financial payments and reconciliations

  • knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience managing/administering benefit plans and well-being programs

  • Previous experience of a relevant specialism and/or general HR Operations

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

  • Previous experience in Benefits Administration

  • Level of knowledge and on-the-job experience that would enable solid performance in the role as defined

  • Proficient in MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

  • Workday prior experience preferred

  • Degree equivalent and/or relevant vocational qualification

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the full and complete base pay range is:

$87,200.00 - $130,800.00

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz’s Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
