Get to Know the Opportunity:

The Test Manager is responsible for the planning and project management of all testing activities required to bring our clients live on the Benefitfocus enterprise platform.  The Test Manager works closely with our clients, the Benefitfocus Project Manager, and the other Benefitfocus project team members throughout the test effort to ensure successful delivery of a quality solution.  The Test Manager must ensure proper management of the testing activities, including workstream management, risks / issues management, escalations, status reporting, etc.  This is a full-time position that requires excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

Please Note:  Work location for this role is FLEXIBLE! This position allows 100% remote work from home or allows work to be performed in any of our major office locations with a hybrid schedule. 

The Contributions You’ll Make:

  • Plan testing scope and timeline for assigned projects.
  • Manage testing activities on implementations, including component, system, and UAT testing.
  • Manage a number of projects and test efforts simultaneously.
  • Attend design meetings and identify downstream dependencies impacting testing success.
  • Create and maintain integration test plans in accordance with internal and external project plans and technical requirements.
  • Maintain visibility into the status of test environments and ensure that they will be available and updated as needed for testing.
  • Coordinate internal system testing of solution functionality prior to external testing with clients.
  • Facilitate testing kickoff and be the main point of contact for all client coordination required to complete client-involved testing.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings with the clients and the Benefitfocus internal project teams.
  • Drive testing activities progress across the areas of application configurations, data integrations, reports, data imports, etc.
  • Work closely with the client and Benefitfocus Project Manager to track testing status against the project plan / test plan.
  • Coordinate issue identification and tracking along with troubleshooting: execute issue resolution and escalation of critical issues during testing.
  • Address outstanding issues and mitigate project risks to ensure a timely implementation.
  • Gain client signoff on testing activity milestones.
  • Maintain an active status view of all projects and ensure risk / issue identification and escalations to ensure project remains on track.
  • Ensure that the project management tools are maintained with accurate status information.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Benefitfocus enterprise platform and products.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of industry concepts, terminology, events, and trends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge & Experience: 

  • 5-7 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or related area.
  • Experience working with health plan carrier partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to lead meetings.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exemplary organization skills and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous, & competing priorities.
  • Candidates must be a self-starter and be effective at times without clear direction.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of benefit plans/structures is a plus.
  • Knowledge of 834 or other data exchange formats is a plus.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya may offer incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$97,160 - $121,450 USD
