Position: Bankruptcy Team Lead

 

Location: Remote OK - (Required to work Hybrid if living within 31 miles of Austin, TX)

 

Salary range $50k to $65k depending on experience

 

Position Summary:

The Bankruptcy Team Lead is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day activities of a team of Bankruptcy Analysts. The Team Lead provides issue resolution and guidance to all team members to accomplish department objectives. The Team Lead is responsible for monitoring timelines to ensure compliance with company, investor, federal and state regulatory guidelines and servicing guidelines established by the CFPB governing loans in Bankruptcy.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor automated and manual processes, ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures, applicable government and investor guidelines and ensuring that borrower inquiries, disputes and complaints are handled within specified timelines and CFPB Guidelines;
  • Coordinates work activities to achieve the volume expected to meet operational requirements;
  • Provides support to the team for questions and training;
  • Ensure staff are knowledgeable of Bankruptcy requirements;
  • Confirms Proof of Claim Bar Dates and Motion for Relief referral and filing timelines are in compliance with state and investor requirements;
  • Processes and monitors Bankruptcy Suspense to confirm timely and efficient processing of funds received;
  • Reviews Tasks and LoanSphere BK/FC Events on a daily basis and delegates work assignments to Bankruptcy Analyst to ensure completion prior to becoming delinquent;
  • Works with senior management to ensure all compliance standards are met;
  • Reviews, maintains and improves Bankruptcy workflow management;
  • Completes status reporting to senior management;
  • Works with senior management to identify, define and implement process changes;
  • Assures all Bankruptcy SLA’s are met;
  • Identifies areas of concern with all Bankruptcy vendors and assists senior management with issue resolution;
  • Fully complies with all applicable mortgage industry laws, rules, regulations and investor requirements and CFPB Servicing Guidelines.
  • Oversee Bankruptcy referral activity to facilitate timely and accurate referrals to all Bankruptcy vendors.
  • Qualifications

    Desired Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the essential job functions;
  • The ideal candidate should have (4+) years' experience in Bankruptcy;
  • Minimum (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to work a schedule that includes some weekends;
  • Has knowledge of commonly used terminology, concepts and practices and procedures within the mortgage industry;
  • Knowledge of MSP, with at least (2) years recent experience working with MSP;
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
