Department Overview

The Back Office Support team delivers solutions to the public safety sector utilizing our broad range of Mobile Video products consisting of body worn cameras, in-car cameras and Evidence Management Systems. We are committed to solving for safer communities by providing technical support and solutions to our customers enabling them to focus on their critical missions within their own communities. To accomplish this goal we work cross-functionally with Support, Sales and Development teams to proactively ensure a stable and secure product experience.


Job Description

The Back Office Systems Technologist will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of MSI’s Mobile Video products and services.

  • Accurately document product issues and convey workarounds and fixes to customers.

  • Take ownership of escalated customer issues to see the problem through to resolution.

  • Ensuring customer satisfaction involves proper support and delivery on SLAs.

  • Follow procedures for escalating customer issues to appropriate internal MSI teams.

  • Provide after-hours support on a rotational basis. (6-8 on call rotations per year)

  • Dedicated 8-10 hours per week of inbound phone support for Critical and Urgent incidents.

  • Work remotely in your home office within the Continental United States

Preferred Skills
  • 5+ years technical support experience including role as a Systems Administrator or Network Administrator.

  • 3+ years Mobile Video software and device experience.

  • Server management  and experience troubleshooting server hardware such as motherboards, power supplies, NICs, HDD , SSD, RAID cards, JBODS and NAS

  • Windows Server 2012R2 and newer, Windows 10/11, SQL Server, AD, AAD, Azure.

  • Linux Distributions - Red Hat and CentOS

  • SQL DB - queries, backup/restore, installation

  • Docker containers

  • Virtualization platforms - Hyper-V and VMWare are a plus.

  • Internet protocols and certificates - HTTPS, SSL/TLS, etc

  • Network - Routers, Switches, VLANs, VPN, DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS.

  • Driven and accountable customer-focused individual committed to delivering an excellent support experience, proactively resolving issues and exceeding expectations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written interactions.

  • Self-assured and adaptable with exceptional organizational, multitasking, and time management skills

  • Eager to learn, improve processes, and capable of confidently handling responsibilities autonomously.

  • Possess a higher education degree, relevant certifications, or related work experience.

  • Computer Science degree or equivalent.

Target Base Salary Range: $56,900- $105,300 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers

Basic Requirements

  • 3+ years technical support experience.

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customers.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
