The role of Azure Security Engineer will primarily be responsible for ensuring the protection of an organization's information systems housed within Azure by implementing, managing, and maintaining security measures. This role involves monitoring security systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to security incidents to safeguard sensitive data against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and data breaches.


Primary Duties include but are not limited to: (Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform essential functions.)

· Design, implement, and manage security controls within Azure environments.

· Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts, conducting investigations as necessary.

· Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices for cloud environments.

· Perform security assessments and vulnerability testing of Azure resources.

· Implement and manage Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, and other security tools.

· Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.

· Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

· Provide guidance and support to development teams on secure coding practices.

· Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential threats.

· Stay updated on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and technology trends.

· Prepare security reports.

· Promote a culture of security within the organization.

· Work with IT teams to integrate security measures into all aspects of the IT infrastructure and processes.

· Keep records of security configurations, changes, and updates.

Requirements

Skills & Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).

· 3+ years of experience in cloud security, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.

· Strong understanding of Azure architecture and services.

· Experience with security tools such as Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, Azure Key Vault, and others.

· Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM), network security, encryption, and compliance in Azure.

· Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI).

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

· Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, or similar are a plus.


Preferred Skills and Experience

· Experience with Amazon Web Services.

· Experience with hybrid cloud environments.

· Experience with Office365 and on premises Active Directory.

· Experience with Crowdstrike, Proofpoint, and/or Arctic Wolf.

· Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.

· Understanding of Zero Trust architecture and principles.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Starting salary range:

· $130k - $150k / Annually
