Perficient currently has a career opportunity for an AWS GovCloud Architect in our Cloud and API business unit. While our headquarters location is St. Louis, MO, this position is remote and can be based anywhere within the United States and will be working CT and ET zones. 

The hands-on AWS GovCloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure and scalable cloud solutions for our clients.

  • Design and implement cloud architectures on AWS GovCloud, adhering to all security and compliance requirements
  • Deep expertise in Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) for containerized application deployments
  • Expertise in building secure and scalable APIs using serverless architecture, AWS Lambda functions, AWS API Gateway, and Web Application Firewall
  • Design and implement highly available and scalable databases using Postgres RDS and Amazon Aurora
  • Leverage Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming and integration
  • Collaborate with web application developers to define and implement CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform 
  • Lead and assign tasks to team members to ensure efficient project execution
  • Evaluate alternative technologies and solutions to identify the best fit for client requirements
  • Participate in technical discussions with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into effective cloud solutions
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest AWS GovCloud services and best practices
  • Proven experience as an AWS architect 
  • Strong understanding of AWS GovCloud services is desirable
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and EKS
  • Expertise in API design, implementation, and security using AWS API Gateway and API firewalls
  • Experience with AWS relational databases like RDS and Amazon Aurora
  • Familiarity with Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to assign tasks and delegate effectively
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and identify the most appropriate solutions
