Our work depends on an AWS Architect joining our team 100% remotely to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) activities on the Marketplace Assister Technical Support (MATS) Logical Follow-on (LFO) program. This program and related projects support the Health Insurance Marketplace programs and customer service efforts related to back-office functions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

You will be trusted to lead the design, implementation, and management of AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud architecture, cloud services, and the ability to perform hands-on technical projects to deliver robust cloud solutions. This role will involve developing and executing the strategy for cloud adoption and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our cloud environments. You will need to identify strategies for addressing requirements related to data management and you must have significant, in-depth, understanding of and experience with the creation of and use of cloud-based resources. You will analyze, document, and communicate system and businesses processes and ensure adherence to CMS FedRamp standards. This position is 100% remote with work schedules based on Eastern Standard Time (EST). In this role, a typical day will include:  

  • Designing, architecting, deploying, maintaining and improving cloud solutions and AWS infrastructure, implementing best practices for cloud security, including identity and access management, data protection, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Providing expert knowledge for the research, evaluation, and deployment of advanced cloud computing systems and large data analytics.
