Role Summary/Purpose: 

Synchrony is continuing to build a world class Performance Media Growth Organization committed to driving results with our retail and payments partners while also delivering leading customer experiences. Within this organization, our Paid Media Team is focused on achieving growth by making data-driven decisions to create meaningful interactions with existing and potential customers. We are seeking an AVP, Digital Marketing Partnerships and Innovation to foster strategic collaboration both across our organization and with our external vendors. This role will be key in driving innovation across our core growth initiatives, ensuring our organization is industry leading with emerging paid media trends and practices. This role will also be vital in facilitating new vendor onboarding and management to maximize value from our partners.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Paid Media, Analytics, and Marketing Platform teams to understand business needs to bring new ways to reach and engage with their target consumers 
  • Work with paid media leads to evolve media buying activities, and balance new projects with their day-to-day workloads 
  • Coordinate discovery with new innovative vendors and ad tech partners; hosting cross-department meetings to learn about new vendors and capabilities 
  • Partner with sourcing, legal, supplier management, and finance teams on new vendor onboarding, risk assessments, contracts, and renewals
  • Own, manage, and update a digital AdTech maturity framework for paid, owned, and earned channels  
  • Produce roadmaps based on the maturity framework, aimed at keeping media initiatives at pace with the evolving digital media landscape 
  • Frequently review leading industry news subscriptions, communicating key updates to the enterprise
  • Build presentations for senior leadership that outline our Ad Tech capabilities, industry trends, and digital roadmaps
  • Support media channel teams with vendor management, assisting negotiations for JBP agreements and relationship check-ins
  • Prioritize projects to balance innovation while always ensuring the teams are baseline activity is best in class 
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, in lieu of degree, HS Diploma/GED and 9 years of experience in digital marketing and/or ad tech. 
  • 4+ Ad Tech with Digital Media experience 
  • Experience managing ad tech vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and JBP roadmaps
  • Experience onboarding new vendors through legal reviews, risk assessments, and contract terms. 
  • Working knowledge of ad tech platforms and tools (i.e.  Google Marketing Platform, DV360, DoubleVerify, Meta, Pinterest, LinkedIn, LiveRamp, or similar) 

Desired Characteristics:

  • 4+ years experience in an agency environment 
  • Familiarity with the governance and process requirements of a financial company
  • Experience working strategically with Google in a digital marketing capacities 
  • Very organized, exceptional attention to detail, project tracking and follow-through 
  • Ability to navigate a highly-matrixed organization, coordinating between multiple stakeholders
  • Experience communicating with legal and finance stakeholders with limited paid media backgrounds
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize to deliver against deadlines 
  • Solution oriented and self-directed with experience creating and owning strategic plans
  • Proficient with Powerpoint, creating presentations for senior leadership

Grade/Level: 11

                                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

                                 

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
