POSITION OVERVIEW
The Authorizations Coordinator will perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the department and/or managers and supervisors to facilitate the efficient operation at CARD. The Authorizations Coordinator will report to the Authorizations Supervisor. This position is remote; full time, 40 hours per week and is non-exempt.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and represent CARD policy enthusiastically
- Represent CARD professionally and ethically to internal and externals stakeholders
- Organize and maintain accurate client and funding files
- Distribute funding documents and correspondence to satellite offices
- Communicate funding updates to satellite offices and billing department
- Communicating with insurance companies for client approval verification
- Convert requested hours to the appropriate insurance code service
- Update company forms and tables when needed
- Conduct timely report reviews and follow-ups as required
- Complete report reviews in a time frame that allows for delivery of feedback and modifications to the case prior to the submission of authorization
- Respond to emails and phone inquiries from employees and clients
- Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to, copying, faxing, mailing and filing
- Support Revenue Cycle Management team in assigned project-based work
- Management of employer and patient property
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma
- 1+ years secretarial and/or administrative work experience
- Excellent inter-personal relationship skills
- Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Comfortable on the phones
- Ability to work well alone and as part of a team
- Maintain confidential records and files
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy (ABA)
- Knowledge of provider guidelines imposed by insurance carriers
- CPT codes
- Prior authorization process experience
