Part-time Audiology Assistant / Hearing Technician

Position Spotlight:

  • Part-time role, 2 full days per week at Ann Arbor clinic. Some flexibility on days.
  • Travel within 50- mile radius of Ann Arbor is possible for outreach efforts.
  • Triage patient care in clinic, patient intake/check-in or out, data entry, answering phones.
  • 1 day per week spent on patient and professional outreach in the community, supporting Cochlear sponsored educational plans.

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to work for Cochlear Clinical Services, LLC., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochlear Americas. This part-time role will focus one day per week in the clinic supporting a cochlear implant Audiologist in Ann Arbor and one day per week devoted to community outreach and education.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with Cochlear implant evaluations which includes operation of diagnostic audiometric equipment under the supervision of an Audiologist.
  • Responsible for being the technical expert for candidates and recipients by providing product support for the entire Cochlear portfolio (Baha, Cochlear Implants, and Hearing Aids).
  • Assist with cochlear implant activations. Support interface connections between the patient processor, programming software and remote audiology support.
  • Initiate approved patient and professional outreach/marketing methods and work with team members to execute.
  • Must be able to travel within a 50-mile radius of the physical clinic location in Ann Arbor.
  • Maintain patient records incompliance with privacy regulations.
  • Clinical office supply ordering, inventory, assisting RMA’s.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong computer skills (preferably in Microsoft Suite)
  • Proficient experience utilizing common office resources (phone, copier, and email)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance/manage multiple, changing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Follows through on commitments, meets deadlines, takes responsibility for actions, and shows consistency between words and actions
  • In role related tasks, identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license and have access to reliable transportation.

  • Pay Range in the United States: $28.00 - $29.00 per hour, based upon experience, as well as an annual bonus opportunity of 5% of base salary. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
  • Part-time roles are not eligible for medical benefits but are eligible for 401(k) and subsequent employer matching.
