(Associate) Scientist I, Medical and Scientific Affairs

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

  • Design, develop, analyze data from new and published in vitro and in vivo experiments and clinical studies to characterize the biological activity of natural plant compounds and their application in addressing specific chronic disease conditions.
  • Communicate knowledge clearly and persuasively, both in writing and speaking/presentation and effectively present scientific data across diverse teams.
  • Conduct in-depth nutrition research related  literature search in order to draft robust scientific documents for internal and external use (white papers, substantiation dossiers, manuscripts, conference posters, Powerpoints, etc.).
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, commercial, and other groups internally.
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of academic roundtables, webinars, and conference related internal and external presentations.
  • Leverage and expand on the network of key opinion leaders and academic experts in the field of bioactives and health.
  • Team with in-house experts, as directed, to interpret data from current and existing studies, validate outcomes, and to help design future studies.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED

  • PhD in a scientific discipline; may include post-doctoral experience preferred.
  • PhD with 0-2 years related experience.
  • Or MS with 2+ years related experience.
  • Ability to think logically and make connections between observations, research results, and existing knowledge to provide practical solutions.
  • Excellent computer and quantitative skills, including scientific record-keeping and technical document management.
  • Strong skill set leveraging published literature on human health processes to provide product related scientific support. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts, data, and interpretations to a wide range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, think and work independently, problem-solve, work effectively in teams, and contribute to multiple projects in parallel.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional colleagues, working with CROs, and other external collaborators. 
  • Technical proficiency with MS Office and virtual meeting tools.
  • Self-starting, entrepreneurial orientation a must.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at time.

COMPENSATION

  • The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $120,000.
  • Compensation for this position is commensurate with relevant qualifications and work experience, academic credentials, job related skills, employment location and other factors.
