Purpose of Position
The Department of Marketing in the Nistler College of Business and Public Administration at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND invites applicants for a full-time, tenured position at the rank of associate or full professor based on a candidate’s documented record of achievement and attainment of tenure at another institution in a similar field, subject to approval from the Department, College, University, and the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education.
Applicants considered for Associate or Full Professor of Marketing will have responsibilities in teaching, research, and service as well as having an administrative load to initiate efforts to design, establish, and grow a Center for Professional Sales in the department. The NCoBPA is accredited by AACSB and is the largest school of business in the state of North Dakota. The Marketing Department at UND offers a marketing major and professional sales minor.
Qualified candidates will have a demonstrated record of teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in the field of Sales, a demonstrated research publication record in high quality marketing journals with an emphasis on sales publications and demonstrated commitment to service roles. The candidate’s contributions should align with the missions and strategic plans of the University of North Dakota, Nistler College of Business and Public Administration, and the Marketing department.
Duties & Responsibilities
- 40% - Teaching - High quality teaching at undergraduate level in the following areas: professional selling and advanced selling
- 45% - Research - Research and publish in high quality journals in the marketing field with an emphasis on sales publications
- 10% - Service - Service at the department, college, university, and academy levels
- 5% - Administration - Work to design, establish and grow a Center for Professional Sales
Required Competencies
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with students, coworkers, and various external groups
- Ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues within and outside of the Marketing Department
Minimum Requirements
- PhD or DBA in Marketing from an AACSB Accredited Program
- Evidence of quality teaching in the Sales area within a Marketing Program
- Evidence of scholarly research commensurate with rank resulting in publication in high quality marketing journals with an emphasis on sales publications
- Evidence in support of AACSB Faculty Qualification standards for Scholarly Academic (SA)
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in developing academic programs and/or sales centers
- Evidence of teaching of Professional Selling/Intro to Selling and/or Advanced Selling courses
- Evidence of service in leadership positions in department, college, university, and/or the academy
