Description:
New Engen is seeking a dynamic Associate Manager of Media Strategy to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with 3-5 years of experience in media and strategy. You will play a pivotal role in driving client media strategies by working closely with senior strategy leaders, conducting research, synthesizing insights, and helping develop comprehensive media plans. This role offers a great opportunity to build on your media strategy knowledge while contributing to the success of high-profile clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Media Strategy Development: Partner with senior strategists to build comprehensive media strategies, spanning paid social, search, video, and programmatic channels, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as a client-facing point of contact, presenting strategies, insights, and recommendations clearly and confidently.
  • Research & Insights: Conduct in-depth research (qualitative and quantitative) using various tools (e.g., MRI Simmons, eMarketer, SimilarWeb, Nielsen, ChatGPT, Claude) and synthesize insights to inform media plans.
  • Media Planning: Develop media plans with a focus on reach, frequency, and audience segmentation, helping drive campaign effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Trend Analysis: Monitor and identify emerging media consumption trends, platform changes, and audience behaviors to keep strategies ahead of the curve.
  • Storytelling & Narrative Building: Craft compelling narratives around research and data to help clients understand and engage with media strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with media buyers, analysts, and other teams to help develop testing frameworks, ensure seamless execution of media plans and strategies, and turn results & insights into future plans.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3-5 years in digital advertising or media strategy, with hands-on experience in paid media channels such as social, search, programmatic, and video.
  • Media Planning Knowledge: familiarity with media planning fundamentals, including reach and frequency, audience segmentation, and campaign optimization.
  • Research Expertise: Proven experience in conducting research, analyzing data, and synthesizing insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in media analytics tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, MRI-Simmons, or similar platforms. Excel and data visualization tools knowledge is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and engaging manner to diverse audiences, including junior staff and senior executives.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team, ensuring that research and media insights are integrated seamlessly into client strategies.
  • AI Proficiency: proven track record of using AI to drive efficiencies and impact. Strong proficiency in at least one AI tool, and knowledge of potential use-cases/applications. 
  • Curiosity & Growth: A proactive and curious approach to learning, with an enthusiasm for media trends, consumer behavior, and digital marketing innovations.
  • Media Buying Experience: Familiarity with executing paid media campaigns or managing media buying budgets is a plus.
  • Advanced Analytics & Measurement: high level understanding of marketing measurement solutions and how they support a media plan (MMM, incrementality, attribution). 
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think critically and creatively to develop and refine media strategies that deliver business outcomes.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 
The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.

New Engen is headquartered in Seattle. Preference for candidates in Seattle or Denver but will consider fully remote candidates as well.
