Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate, HR Governance to join our Employee Relations team.

About the role

The Associate, Human Resources grows employee policies, collaborates with critical partners to implement risk mitigation strategies and supports our geographical expansion efforts. by working with departments in and outside of the  People Team including close partnership with Oscar’s internal and external legal counsel. The Associate, Human Resources serves as a functional partner and subject matter expert for all things HR Governance by thinking strategically leading to execution.  

You will report to the Senior Manager, Human Resources.

Work Location:

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $98,400 - 129,150 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $88,560 - 116,235 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Develop employee policies to meet state/federal regulations and company specific needs
  • Partner with departments to build standard operating procedures (SOPs) in application of policies
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state employment law regulations
  • Maintain the Visa and Immigration program
  • Build relationships with leaders at all levels while maintaining objectivity. 
  • Help with other HR projects.
  • Identify areas to improve innovation and effectiveness.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years commensurate experience.
  • 3+ years of specialist experience conducting HR and corporate governance and compliance
  • 1+ years experience working with remote employees and locations 
  • 1+ years of knowledge of employment legislation and HR policies (i.e. HR compliance, EEOC requirements, OSHA, STD/FMLA, Reasonable Accommodation, FLSA/wage and hour laws) and experience communicating and answering questions regarding company procedures

  • HR certifications (i.e. SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, AWI-CH).

Pay Transparency:  Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
