Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Financial Reporting, the Associate Director, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting will oversee and manage all aspects of IFRS and US GAAP financial reporting for the group. This role will be instrumental in leading the implementation of Workiva, serving as the technical accounting expert, preparing financial statement disclosures, and drafting technical accounting memos. Additionally, this role will own the integration and optimization of NetSuite and Workiva API connections and will lead the drafting process for the consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosures. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of complex accounting standards, a proactive approach to managing external reporting requirements, and the ability to drive the adoption of new financial reporting tools and processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Manage the preparation of financial statements, disclosures, and schedules in compliance with IFRS and US GAAP for statutory and external reporting.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all financial reports and disclosures, aligning with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Support the accounting teams on the quarterly and annual financial close processes, focusing on timely and compliant reporting.
- Technical Accounting Expertise:
- Act as the go-to expert for IFRS and US GAAP accounting issues, providing technical guidance on complex transactions and treatments.
- Research, interpret, and implement new accounting standards and ensure the organization’s policies and financial statement disclosures are up-to-date.
- Draft and maintain detailed technical accounting memos, explaining the rationale, interpretation of accounting standards and methodology behind key accounting decisions.
- Workiva and NetSuite API Ownership:Lead the implementation and optimization of Workiva, ensuring efficient and effective integration with NetSuite.
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, and enhancement of NetSuite and Workiva API connections to streamline data flows and reporting accuracy.
- Provide guidance and support to the finance team on leveraging these tools to maximize reporting efficiency.
- Audit and External Stakeholder Support:
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and reviews, providing technical memos, schedules, and documentation as needed.
- Ensure timely responses to audit requests and that all necessary materials and disclosures are provided.
- Work closely with FP&A to coordinate responses on questions related to forecasts for impairment analysis, going concern, among others
- Prepare and deliver clear and comprehensive explanations of financial statements and disclosures to auditors and other external stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
- Seven plus years of progressive experience in public company financial reporting, with a strong emphasis on IFRS and US GAAP standards.
- Familiarity and practical experience with the application of IFRS and US GAAP Accounting standards in a tech and/or insurance services environmentExtensive experience in preparing financial statements, disclosures, and technical accounting memos, ideally within a global or multi-entity organization.
- Prior experience with NetSuite and Workiva is preferredA strong individual contributor capable of operating independently with experience in leading projects end-to-end.
- Must be proactive and be able to work well independently and partner with organizational customers
