Associate Director of Clinical Practice

Position Summary
The Associate Director of Clinical Practice supports the scope of Sanford College of Education Clinical Practice operations, candidate support, and accreditation requirements. The role of Associate Director of Clinical Practice will serve all credential programs across four academic departments with the sequence and assessment practices serving candidates to earn recommendation for a credential. The role is designed to manage measures of candidate performance, district partnership relationships, professional development and support of clinical practice faculty, and compliance details with both the California Commission on Teaching Credentialing (CTC) and the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP). The Associate Director works alongside a team of faculty and staff including the Director of Assessment, Accreditation and Clinical Practice, clinical practice faculty and the Office of Credentials and Licensure. .
Essential Functions:
- Direct Field Experiences, both in face-to-face and virtual modalities.
- Direct CTC compliance with all clinical practices; for all credential programs, collaborate with the Credentialing Department to assure candidate success within CTC compliance.
- Direct Clinical Practice policies regarding candidate placements including district and part-time faculty support.
- Develop, nurture and maintain school and district partnerships statewide.
- Design system for Site-Support Provider (SSP) training, monitoring, communication and compliance requirements.
- Direct student success and culture of care initiatives in Clinical Practice including managing the database for Progress Alerts (PA) Candidate Assistance Plan (CAP).
- Direct ongoing audits of all Clinical Practice courses, forms, surveys and standards-based rubrics.
- Supervise standard-based assessment practices, student performance data collection and analysis of data.
- Lead various Clinical Practice committees collaborating with full-time Clinical Practice faculty, Clinical Practice Managers, staff and district partners.
- Collaborate with part-time Clinical Practice faculty including Regional Clinical Practice Coordinators (RCPC), University Support Providers (USP) and with our district mentor teacher Site Support Provider (SSP) .
- Coordinate ongoing CTC and AAQEP standard revisions, annual reporting, and implementation.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Hires and trains 10-12 full and part-time faculty. Supervisor duties to include:
- Screens applications, interviews candidates, and recommends individuals for hiring.
- Trains and monitors work to new and continuing employees.
- Delegates tasks and provides effective direction to team members to produce substantial business results.
- Independently conducts frequent performance feedback weekly, quarterly and annually, to include annual performance evaluations.
- Makes recommendations for salary increases, merit increases and reclassifications.
- In conjunction with HR, determines corrective action as needed for direct reports.
