As an Associate Director, Business Development –Protected Communications this position favors a forward-thinking leader to help develop requirements and capabilities to assist in the National and DoD Communications modernization efforts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the business with accurate market, customer, and competitive information in the protected communications area of responsibility. You will serve as the prime consultant and internal and external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives relating to modernized and resilient communications systems. This position will also be responsible for cultivating relationships with industry partners and recommending alliances, teaming relationships and acquisitions.
This position can work remotely however it will be ideal to be located near one of the following locations: San Diego, CA, Washington DC, Boston, MA
What You Will Do
Identifying, qualifying, developing, and capturing new business initiatives for Protected Communications, including Nuclear C3, National C3 and adjacent markets
Serve as a leader on the capture team during all capture activities including, opportunity identification, opportunity qualification, competitive positioning, opportunity strategy development and proposal development
Customer relationship building
Developing and executing contact plans, including senior executive engagements
Advising the organization on research and development of DoD and National Communications systems, including satellite and terrestrial communications systems and networking
Working as part of a team with program management and engineering to develop solutions to highly complex customer problems
Develop pursuit strategies and overall account strategies, and providing accurate and timely orders forecasting
Identify the customer’s most important requirements, and to provide price to win and competitive assessment for relevant pursuits
Travel expectations 25-30%
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
Understanding of the current NC3 systems, National Leadership Command Capability and Senior Leader Communications capability is required
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret Security Clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
Active Top Secret or TS/SCI Security Clearance is desired
Extensive knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) products, especially Military Satcom
Knowledge of DoD research and development organizations and processes
Experience with the DoD budget process and DoD acquisition requirements process is desired
Knowledge and experience with Foreign Military Sales
Experience with USSPACECOM, NIWC, AFRL/NRL, OSD A&S, Service Headquarters (OPNAV/SecNav or HAF/SAF) or Joint staff experience

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
