Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Academic Succes in the Office of Program Assessment and Evaluation (OPAE), the Associate Dean for Assessment plays a pivotal role in managing university-wide assessment activities, with a primary focus on supporting healthcare programs. This position involves developing, measuring, reviewing, and tracking student learning outcomes, as well as overseeing academic program self-reviews and co-curricular evaluations. The Associate Dean collaborates with various university stakeholders, including academic program directors, deans, faculty, and other entities, to support and enhance assessment processes and strategic initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and oversee the development and implementation of assessment items and processes for academic programs and university initiatives.
  • Create and manage curriculum alignment maps track learning outcomes assessment plans.
  • Develop data-informed continuous improvement action plans for program and the university.
  • Support data requests from academic programs university leadership.
  • Monitor programmatic changes in compliance with HLC and DOE expectations.
  • Oversee academic program self-reviews and accreditation self-studies focusing data analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate professional development for faculty and academic leadership on assessment processes and best practices.
  • Support various assessment needs and projects across the university.

 

    Qualifications

    • Master's or Higher degree; PhD preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing and assessing student learning and facilitating university assessment processes.
    • Experience in curriculum mapping, development, and integration of assessment tools.
    • Proven ability to plan and execute actions to accomplish high-level goals.
    • Experience developing college-level courses, constructing rubrics, and interpreting aggregated student data.
    • Excellent collaboration and engagement skills in a remote work environment.
    • Adaptability with frequent change and new initiatives.
    • Experience in training faculty and academic leadership on assessment and outcomes data.
    • Teaching experience in higher education.
    • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong skills in using design thinking, data visualizations, and data storytelling to inform strategic decisions.
    • Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to make data-driven recommendations.
    • Familiarity with the Higher Learning Commission or other institutional accrediting agencies.
    • Ability to influence without formal authority

    Additional Information

    In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $80336.75 and $145077.09. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
