Associate Data Scientist

What you'll do

Data analysis is core to strategic planning and execution across all of Nettwerk’s business units. Consequently, we aim to have a best-in-class analytics team. The Associate Data Scientist will play an integral role on this team, working collaboratively within the analytics department and cross functionally with other stakeholders to explore questions and create solutions in the form of data science products to optimize business outcomes.

Role Responsibilities

• Create solutions to our most pressing business concerns and challenges
• Take a project through the entire development cycle, from scoping the challenge, brainstorm possible solutions, data analysis, model development, communicating the solution to stakeholders, and integrating the solution into our systems and processes.
• Analyze how artists influence each other's streaming activity, inferring relationships between artists
• Build dashboards and visualizations
• Collect, parse, manage, analyze and visualize large datasets from across multiple data sources
• Constant re-evaluation of your past work, looking for ways to continuously iterate and improve the products
• Get hands on in the data, coming up with hypotheses and verifying them analytically to identify strategic opportunities or other actionable insights
• The Associate Data Scientist will expand on current processes, implement best practices, and assist senior management in developing a roadmap for the expansion of Data Science integration across the organization

Role Requirements

• You are passionate about music, and are curious about the ways artists are discovered and listened to in today’s streaming world!
• A Bachelor’s Degree in data science or related area preferred
• Strong communication skills – must be able to communicate insights to non-analytical, non-technical stakeholders, and must be confident presenting and defending your findings and insights in front of large groups
• Innately curious– the department is driven by an underlying desire to understand what causes what, and we are constantly searching for insights in unexpected places. You have a history of asking “why” and finding the answer!
• Highly analytical – the ability to build hypotheses, identify the data required, and properly analyze with minimal oversight
• Familiarity and experience with Databases and SQL
• Familiarity and experience with Python & python data science packages (e.g. pandas)
• Machine learning using modern frameworks (e.g. sklearn)
• Familiarity and experience with statistical inference
• Comfort with data science tools (version control, Jupyter notebooks or related tools, etc.)
• Creating data visualizations using Python
• Experienced and comfortable working with and cleaning messy datasets
• Experience with time series data and/or signal processing
• Detail oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills
• Highly adaptable – we are nimble, and it’s imperative that team members are able to anticipate and adapt to changing project expectations and scope
• Autonomous & entrepreneurial – you are in control of your position and are able to quickly assess a new challenge and determine a solution with minimal direction. You are self-motivated to continually learn and grow
• Innovative – constantly looking for better ways to complete a task or project
