Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

The Coinbase Compliance Technology Team plays a critical role in achieving our mission. Compliance Technology builds complex systems at a global scale to meet BSA/AML regulations with industry best practices. This role will work within the Compliance Technology team to design, build and maintain metrics and dashboards, as well as being responsible for the production of management and regulatory reports. The ideal candidate should have strong data analytics, SQL, and data visualization skills. Prior experience in cryptocurrency and anti-financial crime is beneficial but not required.

  • Assist with the creation of globally standardized reporting and robust data governance
  • Build compliance reports working in a cross-functional dynamic environment
  • Work towards multiple deadlines to deliver accurate reports and dashboards
  • Effectively manage workload by prioritizing ad-hoc requests and ongoing BAU commitments

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • 4+ years of experience in a data analytics or reporting role at a large consulting, financial services, or technology firm
  • Proficient analytical skills; strong SQL and data visualization skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (including writing formal documentation)
  • Prior experience in at least one of the following areas: compliance, transaction monitoring, customer and transaction screening, KYC and risk rating, and regulatory/management reporting
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment; prior experience in a start-up or high growth environment will be a plus
  • Ability to independently create plans for projects and a track record of overseeing large / complex analytical projects spanning multiple teams.
  • A quick learner and a team player who enjoys building and doing hands-on work
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Accounting, Finance or other related field

Nice to haves:

  • Domain experience in Risk and Compliance
  • Experience working with external examiners and regulators
