Mesa seeks an Associate Civil/Structural Designer to work under direction of Senior Designers/Engineers, and Design Specialists, and assists in the preparation of engineering and construction drawings from rough sketches, verbal instructions, or from general engineering and design information utilizing computer aided design technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the quality of design documents they prepare, and that the documents have been prepared in accordance with applicable Mesa or client procedures which define the requirements for document/deliverable generation. 
  •  Possesses an understanding of drawing types required for a project, their purpose, and inter-relationship with other sets of deliverables. 
  • Communicates with Senior Designers about concepts, data, and specific needs associated with the completion of design deliverables. 
  • Manages personal task assignments and adheres to project scope of work, schedule and budget on all assigned tasks. 
  • Understands the basic design requirements, and technical/commercial constraints on projects.
  • Works with Senior Designer/Design Specialists to evaluate, select, and apply design techniques, procedures, and criteria to assigned engineering/technical tasks. 
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation platforms, as well as Microsoft Office Suite. 3D modeling experience is required. 
  • Normal office environment with occasional overnight field trips to plant sites which require the ability to walk and climb stairs or ladders in a plant or industrial environment. 
  • Able to perform field work including walkdowns, data collection and verification, and construction support, as required.
  • May require the ability to walk and climb stairs or ladders, spend extended periods in hot/cold, dusty environments, and interface with craft personnel/supervision.
  • Possesses willingness to develop, promote and comply with Mesa safety requirements.

Annual Salary Range:

$61,614.53 - $87,052.40

The expected compensation is a range determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, and qualifications of the candidate, internal equity, work location, and hiring department’s fiscal resources.
