Job Overview:Â
The Associate Billing Manager (Denial) is responsible for training billing staff and overseeing their duties, making sure denials are handled appropriately and in a timely fashion. Must have knowledge of all aspects of billing including how to work the A/R, denials, contracting with insurance companies, enrolling in ERAâs and EFTâs, claim scrubbing and upfront claim denials. This position requires the ability to solve problems and handle multiple tasks at the same time.Â
Responsibilities:Â
- Research and analyzes denial data and coordinate denial recovery responsibilitiesÂ
- Identifies, analyzes and researches frequent root causes of denials and develops corrective action plans for resolution of denialsÂ
- Identifies and pursues opportunities for improvement within the billing departmentÂ
- Assist in training staff members, billing and covering as needed during vacationsÂ
- Contracting with insurance companies, setting up ERAâs and EFTâSÂ
- Diligently works on collections ensuring the practice is receiving payments to the maximum level possibleÂ
- Post manual/electronic insurance and patient paymentsÂ
- Provides updates and communicates billing/denial issues to billing staffÂ
- Problem solves and issues that come up independentlyÂ
- Performs customer service for routine patients and other inquiriesÂ
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies/guidelines and billing softwareÂ
- Responsible for contributing to company oversight and information security functions as outlined in employee handbook under Remote Employee HIPPA GuidelinesÂ
- May be required to perform other duties as assignedÂ
- Minimum 10 yearsâ experience in all aspects of billing
