A Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Specialist provides concierge level care in managing member inquiries related to DME in compliance with Medicare and regulatory requirements. 

  • Act as a first point of contact for member inquiries related to DME via telephone and email.  

  • Work closely with our members to manage and analyze their financial transactions to ensure they stay compliant with Medicare and other regulatory requirements.  

  • Work as a liaison between the member and the vendors to determine pricing and facilitate orders of DME items.  

  • Identify and resolve members needs to achieve the ultimate customer experience in a timely fashion.  

  • Resolve member or client service issues in determining the cause of the problem and identify the best solution.  

  • Maintain customer accounts by updating account information when applicable.  

  • Document all communication, upload appropriate documents to internal database, and document clear concise notes in our database to ensure accounts are up to date.  

  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance job skills and knowledge.  

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  •  1+ years of experience in a customer service role in a business related to DME, healthcare, Medicare, insurance services, case management, or workers’ compensation.  

  • Proven success in always putting customers first. You enjoy delighting the customer and are willing to go above and beyond to do so.  

  • Knowledge of administrative or clerical procedures, managing files and records, data entry, transcription, and other office procedures and terminology.  

  • 1 year or more of DME experience managing documentation and facilitating orders with a base knowledge of medical terminology and DME equipment.  

  • Knowledge of settlement document language, Worker’s Compensation, and MSA terminology, (preferred).  

  • Multi-lingual with working fluency in a language other than English, with a preference for Spanish (preferred).  

  • Able to work 11:30am to 8pm EST primarily with flexibility in shift changes
