Albany ENT & Allergy Services is looking for an Assistant to the Billing department to support our Billing team. This position is responsible for reviewing and verifying charges and encounters as well as entering charges for the Practice. 


This position can be fully remote upon completion of training. Meetings may require onsite attendance so preference will be given to candidates residing in the Capital Region. 


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verifies charges submitted daily on the RCX Dashboard correcting these to ensure clean claims.
  • Monitors for missed charges
  • Submit and verify charges for remote audiologist and allergy department vial prep as well as hearing aid and sleep charges.
  • Daily Encounter Maintenance Validation
  • Maintenance of Unique Patient Charts
  • Reconciliation of Incoming CCDs
  • Manage Luma Accounts and Access as well as open tickets and troubleshooting.
  • Prepares training material and conducts training classes in either virtual or in-person settings for new workflows.
  • Adheres to best practices regarding information security.
  • Provides remote and/or on-site support as needed to end-users in using the NextGen application.
  • Assists in the preparation of department guidelines, standards, procedures, and policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in healthcare administration. 
  • Consistent professional conduct, meticulous attention to detail, and critical thinking skills and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required as well as interpersonal skills with patients, providers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies
  • Proficient computer skills including ability to master the EHR and practice management software; Experience with NextGen preferred.
  • Demonstrate verbal and written communication in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
  • This position requires an excellent organization and time management skills, as well as the ability to multi-task. 

  

COMPENSATION: The compensation range for this position is $19 to $23. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, education, experience, and qualifications.
