SIT is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Financial Support to administer institutional and external
scholarships for students enrolled in SIT Study Abroad and SIT Graduate Institute. This position is crucial in
supporting initiatives to enhance student enrollment and retention by establishing and executing scholarship procedures, policies, and communication strategies that ensure an efficient and student focused process. Candidates should demonstrate a deep understanding of federal financial aid policies and regulations related to undergraduate study abroad and graduate enrollment, including military and veterans' educational benefits, along with expertise in scholarship administration, analytical thinking, and process management skills.


The Assistant Director of Student Financial Support reports to the Associate Vice President of Enrollment
Services and is an integral member of the Enrollment Services team. This role serves as the primary contact for scholarships for all SIT Study Abroad and SIT Graduate Institute students, parents, and partner institutions. Responsibilities include proactively advising students and families about funding opportunities, application procedures, eligibility requirements, and budget planning to help them prepare for educational expenses related to their program of study. The position collaborates closely with colleagues from the Admissions, Student Accounts, and University Relations teams. The candidate can either be based in Brattleboro, Vermont or remotely at another approved location within the United States.

Responsibilities
• Provide student service and collaborate with internal and external colleagues to develop
scholarship strategies to support enrollment goals in accordance with applicable government
regulations and institutional priorities.
• Facilitate the Scholarship Review Committee; ensure optimal utilization and strategic use of
institutional, endowed, and restricted funds; oversee and carry out daily operations of award
administration.
• Maintain, analyze, and report on student financial data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
and make recommendations for improvements to support student enrollment and retention.
• Develop comprehensive materials and maintain current resources to assist students in planning
for educational expenses related to their program of study, including financial aid options,
scholarship opportunities, and budgeting strategies.
• Integrate the graduate scholarship process into the CRM system (Salesforce) to enhance data
tracking, generate comprehensive reports, and streamline the scholarship application process.
• Research, identify, and maintain a database of external scholarship opportunities to financially
support SIT students across various programs and disciplines.
• Serve as the School's Certifying VA Official and process administrative forms to facilitate financial
support for SIT students, completing consortium agreements, and processing deposit deferrals.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in a related field preferred
• A minimum of five years of professional experience in financial aid and scholarship administration
in higher education.
• Knowledge of current government regulations, policies, and practices related to financial aid and
scholarship administration with a clear understanding of student financial support as central
elements of an e`ective enrollment management strategy.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and derive
meaningful insights.
• Knowledge of communication strategies aimed at improving student recruitment and retention
• Understanding of study abroad and graduate programs' educational value and commitment to
expanding access to underserved populations.
• Passion for and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice, and anti-racism and to
working with people from diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, religious, and socioeconomic
backgrounds.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, along with strong organizational
abilities and a keen eye for detail
• Demonstrated capacity to excel both independently and collaboratively within a remote team
environment
• Experience using SIS and CRM platforms (Salesforce proficiency preferred)


Vaccination is strongly recommended for all employees in our U.S. offices except for those receiving medical or religious exemptions. If boosters are subsequently recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) then employees and faculty will be recommended to receive the booster within thirty (30) days of their eligibility.
