This Architect position will provide technology solution thought leadership and recommendations for enterprise and business initiatives, develop a general understanding of business objectives and strategies and ensures technology architectural vision is fully aligned with those objectives and strategies.This position interfaces with solution vendors, all technology areas and the designated business line(s) to develop understanding of key strategies, business drivers and business objectives in order to research technology landscape and recommend technology strategy that will contribute to future success of the company. Promotes effective use of technology solutions to all levels of the company and functions as a design consultant with strong knowledge of best practices. Leads technical teams to adopt principles and execute solutions according to enterprise best practices.
This person will,
Develops the applications architecture and blueprints which reflect business logic of the line of business. Guide solution vision and strategy by providing a break down of complex projects, applications and systems.
Collaborate with line of business on product road map. Offering technical guidance while they discuss and decide on product changes.
Analyze current information technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
Consult with infrastructure, security, and application development projects to fit systems to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs.
Oversee the evaluation and selection of hardware and software products.
Conducts reviews and analysis of needs and goals for the development and implementation of applications.
Document all technical architecture design.
Understand, advocate, and augment the principles of information technology strategies and current Associated Bank standards and processes.
Analyze business drivers to determine business information and technical architecture requirements.
Analyze technology industry and market trends and determine potential impact upon the line of business.
Create and maintain the architecture road map for the line of business. Supplying this road map to the line of business to be integrated with the product road map.
Assist on identifying organizational (skills, processes, structures, and culture) and financial impact of the application architecture.
Recommends redesign, replacement or redevelopment of applications.
Provide designs, estimates for projects. Guide/mentor PM's, BA's, SA's on current technologies used, etc.
Evaluate incoming work requests providing feasibility assessment, and where possible also provide with initial solution options/ideas to aid sizing of the effort.
Provides ad-hoc technical guidance to the business solution teams. Consults on all technical and design activities.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience Required
Experience
3-5 years Information Technology with demonstrated architect business & technology solutions to business problems involving one or more business areas with particular experience in the finance & banking industry. Required
5-7 years Information Technology in the multiple IT disciplines with strong emphasis in solution development. Preferred
