*This role is 100% remote and can sit anywhere in the continental US -- travel will be required twice a year*

Job Summary

The Office of Risk Management (ORM) supports the implementation of programs, policies, and practices to manage the risk of RSM US LLP. Audit Quality & Risk Management (AQRM) within ORM, is responsible for monitoring the firm’s audit practice by executing such activities as the internal inspection program, PCAOB inspection, monitoring of the firm’s system of quality management (SOQM), as well as other monitoring projects. The AQRM-SOQM Senior Associate works with the AQRM-SOQM Lead Manager to coordinate the design and implementation testing and operating effectiveness testing, as well as perform direct testing of select controls. The AQRM-SOQM Senior Associate works closely with the Quality Management team in the National Professional Standards Group, as well as control owners in various departments across the firm. Relocation is not required.    

Essential Duties

Serves as the point of contact for RSM USI individuals and rotators assigned to system of quality management testing. Acts as a liaison with control owners and completes an initial review of any work performed by RSM USI.

Performs walkthroughs, design and implementation testing, operating effectiveness testing, identification of exceptions, potential findings and deficiencies as well as timely and accurate communication of results.

Assists the AQRM-SOQM Lead Manager with monitoring of the firm’s system of quality management and development of project timelines.  Communicates project status and achievement of key milestones.

Perform remediation testing.

Assist with the development of innovation testing techniques and proactive monitoring development.

Assist with report development and presentation materials for AQRM Leadership, the Quality Management Risk Committee (including the National Assurance Leader and Chief Risk Officer), and the Chief Executive Officer.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Master’s degree (preferred)

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

(MUST NOTE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED)

  • Working knowledge of the system of quality management standards (preferred)
  • Strong oral and written communications skills (required)
  • Strong social and interpersonal skills and ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely, verbally and orally to diverse audiences across the firm (required)
  • Ability to develop and maintain applicable professional and internal contacts, resources and networks (required)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with respect to internal information (required)
  • Exhibit high attention to detail and strong proofreading skills (required)

EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years’ relevant experience (required)

Compensation Range: $75,400 - $124,300

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
