Alaska Northstar Resources (ANR) is searching for Security Specialist III to join their team on a long-term effort.


The Security Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Performs a variety of routine project tasks applied to specialized cyber security problems. Tasks involve integration of electronic processes or methodologies to resolve total system problems, or technology problems as they relate to cyber security requirements.
  • Knowledgeable with creating and updating RMF related artifacts specific to NIST security control families.
  • Provides cyber security support for planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, integration of information systems. Develop System Security Plan using Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT).
  • Performs STIG review, remediation and results.
  • Leads mitigation of vulnerabilities derived from security scans.
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that systems support the organization's business requirements and meet the needs of end users.
  • Defines systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.
  • Defines technical standards and functionality tests.
  • Works with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements.
  • Designs, plans, and coordinates application systems and programming work teams.
  • Provides functional or operational support to project development and software test team members.
  • Handles complex application strategies features and technical concepts.
  • Familiar with a variety of software engineering concepts, practices, and testing procedures.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Familiar with Configuration Management tools, and advance software test tools capable evaluating information assurance and functional performance.
Requirements

Minimum Candidate Requirements

Candidate must be US Citizen.

Candidate must have active DoD Secret Clearance at minimum.

Candidate must have current IAM Level III certification (CISSP, CCSP, CASP+ CE, or CISA)

Candidate must have 10+ years' experience with the following:

  • Providing cyber security support for planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, integration of information systems.
  • Assisting in assessment and authorization activities for DoD information systems. 
  • Utilizing eMASS to document security control test results. 
  • Technical field's concepts, practices, and procedures. 
  • Judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  
  • DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF)

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • May develop specifications, prototypes, or initial user guides. 
  • May be required to lead and direct the work of others. 
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.  
  • Experience working within the Agile SDLC Framework
  • Experience leading and managing a dispersed, remote team
  • Experience with US Air Force IT Projects
  • Bachelor's degree.

Work Environment:

Office environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%).
