ANR - Quality Assurance Analyst - Juniper
Remote Worker - US Only
Alaska Northstar Resources (ANR) is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team on an exciting and long-term program supporting a US government program.
The Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Plans, organizes, and implements day to day activities of testing.
- Coordinates with developers, architects, and functional analysts within an agile/scrum environment.
- Creating SQL queries as well as knowledge of Xray (within Jira)
- Reviews and understands user stories and associated acceptance criteria.
- Writes test scripts based on defined and approved user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Executes all phases and types of testing to include user story testing, end-to-end testing, regression testing of a release, and possibly performance testing.
- Documents the testing results and coordinate with developers and architects as needed.
- Assists with the building of test strategies & methodologies, automation and site monitoring focused on infrastructure and high availability.
- Understands complex business and functional requirements and provide direction in designing the technical test cases that thoroughly test the tech stack from architectural standpoint and meet the product requirements.
- Participates in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, dependencies or potential issues.
- Works with Product & Engineering Teams in implementing & enforcing quality gates at each stage of the pipeline (including the movement of tickets all the way to completion).
- Proactively identifies and communicates risks and opportunities for improvement in testing process or other processes that cross all products and test frameworks.
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
Candidate must have a successful NACI or OPM/NS
Candidate must have a current or recent Public Trust (or Higher) with the US government.
Candidate must have 5+ years of experience in the following:
- Quality Assurance Testing, including manual and automated testing in complex engineering environments.
- Comprehensive experience executing all phases of testing (e.g., functional, regression, performance, end-to-end).
- Developing test strategies, test scripts, and test automation frameworks.
- Testing complex data workflows and migrations within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- SQL, including the ability to write complex queries for data validation and analysis.
- QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Jira and test management tools like Xray for defect tracking and agile workflows.
- Data Analysis and Infrastructure to include database systems like Informix, DataStage, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Quality Gates.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and analysts.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.
- Ability to identify risks proactively and suggest process improvements for continuous quality enhancement.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Information Technology or related field.
- Certified Testing Foundation Level (CTFL) or equivalent
Work Environment
Office environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%). Occasional business travel may be required. Only requested and approved expenses will be covered by ANR.

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
