Description Financial Accountant for Reinsurance companies in which Protective is the manager of the Books, Taxes and records. Key point of contact for assigned company dealerships, shareholders, and Protective Sales force.
ResponsibilitiesPreparation and analysis of quarterly, semi-annual and annual financial statements of approximately 50 reinsurance companies including ceding of various other writers, cash transactions, accruals, reconciliations and investments. Tax return preparation and analysis of approximately 50 reinsurance companies including completion of additional tax schedules, IRS correspondence and all necessary tax elections, payments, and analysis. Including but not limited to 953d elections, 831b elections, tax extensions, Form 8886, Form BE-10 and all necessary tax analysis for beneficial tax elections. Preparation of all domicile related filings for licensing requirements. Work closely with the Distribution and Client Walth teams to analyze company performance, prepare shareholder financial reviews, provide company information, and answer company questions related to assigned companies in which we complete the books, taxes and records. Assist in gathering tax documentation and materials necessary for the completion of the tax returns and financial statements. Act as the point of contact between Protective Asset Protection, sales and shareholders. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Attributes
- Accounting degree and/or Finance or equivalent
- 2 years general accounting experience in an automated environment or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary accounting skills knowledge and abilities.
- Excellent computer software skills and especially knowledgeable with spreadsheets (Excel)
- Must demonstrate a strong sense of teamwork and possess a strong working knowledge of computer systems.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of general accounting principles
- Strong skills in the following areas: analytical, problem solving, written and oral communication, organization, and time management.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
