Air Reservist - Remote w/Deployment to Client Sites, US

Position Summary:

IEM is looking for Part Time- Air Reservists. If you are interested in being among the first to deploy into a disaster and are not deterred by the thought of having to deploy in potentially austere conditions for up to 30-days, then the IEM Air Reserves may be for you! 

 

We are looking for a former U.S. military personnel and current National Guardsmen/Reservists that understand military airlift, operations, and logistics. Personnel that know how to get the mission done and understand that failure is never an option.   

 

We usually deploy to airports (both CONUS and OCONUS), but may also support emergency operations centers (EOCs), warehouses, logistics, seaports, or anything and anywhere we are needed. We are Jack of all trades!


Primary Location:

  • Candidates can originate from anywhere in the United States
  • Like other cadre members of this type, your employment is dependent on the needs of our clients; once a need arises, we then activate this team for Full Time employment until the client needs are met and once deactivated this role will revert to Part Time status.
  • Once reactivated you must have the ability and willingness to deploy worldwide within 24-to-72 hours of notification for up to 30-days (anticipated once per year but may exceed that).
  • When you are not activated you will operate remotely from home with limited hours only to maintain work status. 
  • All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Situational Awareness: We prefer to put our employees up in 5-star hotels, and often time we do! However, we deploy in support of disasters and conditions may be austere including prolonged exposure to excessive heat and cold, prolonged sun exposure and no electricity, heat or air conditioning. Other potential risks include air quality issues, standing water, mosquitos, snakes, debris and other potential exposures. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • May conduct operations at airports and seaports in support of disaster response operations.
  • Conduct below-the-wing handling of commercial passenger and freight/cargo aircraft (both fixed-wing and rotary-wing)
  • Manifest passengers and cargo
  • Provide in-transit visibility of aircraft, passengers, and cargo.
  • Conduct on-load and off-load operations of freight/cargo aircraft.
  • Operate ground support equipment on parking aprons/ramps.
  • Coordinate activities and facilitate communications between airport stakeholders and government clients.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and staff augmentation to FEMA Joint Field Office (JFO) or state/local EOCs.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Have airfield, airfield security, aerial port and/or ramp experience.
  • Ability to successfully pass a seven (7) year criminal background check.
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug test.
  • Ability to meet and maintain deployment physical/medical standards.
  • Must be able to work up to 12-hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds to waist-level.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Current DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance
  • One (1) year of experience in contingency operations or emergency management
  • Completion of FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
