About the Role
The Educational Equality Institute (TEEI) is seeking highly accomplished professionals, industry leaders, and philanthropic advocates to join its Advisory Board. As an Advisory Board Member, you will provide strategic guidance, thought leadership, and support in fundraising and partnership development to advance TEEI’s mission of expanding access to education, mentorship, and professional development for displaced individuals, refugees, and underserved communities, particularly women and girls.
Advisory Board Members serve as trusted advisors, leveraging their expertise, networks, and leadership to help shape TEEI’s long-term strategy and funding model. This role is ideal for individuals with strong philanthropic connections, corporate relationships, or nonprofit leadership experience who want to make a tangible impact.

Description
As an Advisory Board Member, you will play a critical advisory role, working closely with TEEI’s leadership and Board of Directors to provide strategic input, connections, and fundraising support. Your involvement will help TEEI strengthen its partnerships, expand its reach, and secure sustainable funding.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Advisory Support:
- Provide expert guidance on organizational growth, strategic planning, and financial sustainability.
- Offer insights into corporate philanthropy, donor engagement, and nonprofit best practices.
- Advise on TEEI’s expansion into new funding opportunities, partnerships, and program development.
Fundraising & Development:
- Support TEEI’s fundraising initiatives by introducing potential donors, corporate sponsors, or philanthropic foundations.
- Help facilitate connections to high-net-worth individuals, corporate giving programs, and social impact investors.
- Contribute to meeting annual fundraising goals ($25,000–$50,000 per advisory member).
Partnership Development & Advocacy:
- Leverage your network to enhance TEEI’s presence among corporate leaders, policymakers, and philanthropic organizations.
- Advocate for TEEI’s programs, initiatives, and mission at public events, industry conferences, and within professional networks.
- Serve as a brand ambassador, helping TEEI gain visibility and credibility within key sectors.
Engagement & Participation:
- Attend quarterly advisory board meetings (virtual or in-person) to provide strategic input.
- Participate in fundraising and networking activities to strengthen TEEI’s donor and sponsor base.
- Collaborate with other Advisory Board Members to develop new opportunities for growth and impact.
Requirements
TEEI seeks senior executives, nonprofit leaders, philanthropists, and business professionals with a strong background in corporate partnerships, donor engagement, fundraising, or social impact leadership.
Ideal Candidates Have:
✔ A deep commitment to education, workforce development, and social impact.
✔ Experience in fundraising, corporate philanthropy, or nonprofit advisory roles.
✔ A strong network of corporate executives, major donors, or philanthropic organizations.
✔ Expertise in finance, law, technology, AI, social impact, or nonprofit growth strategies (preferred but not required).
✔ Prior experience serving on a nonprofit advisory board (preferred but not required).
✔ The ability to dedicate 5–10 hours per quarter to advisory board meetings, fundraising efforts, and strategic input.
Fundraising Commitment:
Each Advisory Board Member is expected to contribute or help raise between $25,000 and $50,000 annually through personal giving, corporate sponsorships, or donor outreach.
