Overview

The Advanced Applications Engineer, Southwest will deliver expert field support to our channel partners and prospective users by providing advanced system training, design, deployment, programming, third-party integration, and troubleshooting. This is a remote role, but candidates must be located in So. Cal, Vegas, AZ, or NM. The primary responsibility will be to support channel partners within this region, although occasional travel outside the region may be required.

 

Base Pay Range: $83,000- $110,000We will be accepting applications until a final candidate is identified. The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. Responsibilities

  • Work with Regional Sales Manager, Area Managers, channel partners, and end-users to design Audio, Video, and Control solutions around the Q-SYS ecosystem.
  • Represent Q-SYS at regional and national trade shows.
  • Create solutions and develop system diagrams and bill of materials for sales opportunities.
  • Write scope of work and perform onsite programming and commissioning for Q-SYS professional services.
  • Lead the field training initiative for the Q-SYS ecosystem.
  • Provide guidance, develop, and teach Advanced Level training curriculum.
  • Provide Advanced-level seminars and presentations as required.
  • Create solutions and develop system diagrams and bill of materials for sales opportunities.
  • Provide mentoring on subject matter expertise to other Systems Application Engineers within the organization.
  • Participate as a subject matter expert on the Q-SYS ecosystem on platforms such as Q-SYS Communities.
  • Keep Engineering, Marketing, Product Development, Technical Services, and Quality Assurance divisions informed, in writing, of any product problems, opportunities, software bugs, or emerging customer needs.
  • Assist and influence Product Development by acquiring and reporting application, use-case, and customer requirements information.
  • Reinforce QSC’s credibility within the Pro Audio, Video, and Control community.
  • Assist in building and programming tradeshow technology demonstrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical/engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Must be located in So. Cal, Vegas, AZ or NM
  • Audio Visual industry certifications in CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D are desirable.
  • IT industry certifications such as CCNA, CCDA, Network+ or equivalent are desirable.
  • Certifications with third-party control integration (Extron, Crestron, AMX, etc.) are desirable.
  • Minimum 5-year experience in the professional audio, visual, and control industry.
  • Must be fluent in computer technologies, networked audio video and control systems, and DSP technology.
  • Must have a deep understanding of integrated audio-visual systems and signal flow.
  • Experience with LUA scripting, User Interface Design, Control System Design, Logic flow, or similar skills is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Unified Communications systems (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco, etc.) is desirable.
  • Ability to present technical topics in a classroom, webinar, and tradeshow setting is required.
  • Position requires a minimum of 50% travel.
