Research and Innovation
- Assisting the Global Urban Trek Director in global site visits by providing feedback and notes on different sites and partnerships
- Research on-site locations for upcoming Trek program, including history, culture, and context of the neighborhood
- Assist in the development of new Trek sites
Supervision and Training Responsibilities:
- Enforce risk management and general policies on Global Urban Treks
- Communicate with and provide resources for Trek directors
- Assist directors in being culturally and socially sensitive to situations in the host cultures
- On occasion, travel to international locations
Administration and Programming:
- Help Director of Global Urban Trek coordinate with their host sites, including flights, housing and partnership with IFES
- Assist in the production and distribution of promotional materials, including website
- Stay in communication and meet regularly with National Director
- Aid Coordinator in recruiting students to participate in the Trek and help supervise their fundraising
Liaison with Trek Constituents:
- Build trust and relationships with the organizations with which the Trek partners
- Strategize to develop and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships between Urban Programs, the Trek, New Friars organizations, and IV Chapters
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability working with college students, especially in a pastoral capacity
- Prior international short-term or Global Urban Trek experience preferred
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment
- Cross-cultural experience and/or positive, flexible and adventuresome mental attitude
- Annually affirming InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Applications (sheets, forms)
- Proven administrative experience
- Time and Project Management Skills
- Strong Task Management and Project Development Skills
- Open to learn new concepts, methods and skills
Pay: This position is funded through personal fundraising. Accordingly, compensation will vary based on the ability of the individual to secure a donor team to fund the cost of his/her salary. The anticipated salary range for this position on a full-time basis (40 hours/week) is dependent on a variety of factors, including location and cost of living. The actual salary received, including any geographic adjustment to account for location and cost of living, is subject to the individual’s ability to raise funds necessary to cover the full amount of such salary within the range set forth in the job posting details.
