Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant I is responsible for creating and maintaining a professional office environment by efficiently and effectively providing administrative support to the Radiologic Technology, Physical Therapy Assistant and Substance Abuse Counseling programs in the Health Sciences Division. 
 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serving as office receptionist, creating and distributing program correspondence including communication with clinical sites and advisory committee members.
  • Assisting in the promotion and marketing of the programs, compiling and maintaining student files and correspondence for current and prospective applicants.
  • Coordinating with the Dean’s Assistant regarding clinical contracts.
  • Maintaining office and classroom supply inventories.
  • Handling routine office duties such as answering the phone, scheduling appointments, filing and distributing mail.
  • Submitting purchase requisitions/budget reporting including faculty travel.
  • Assisting in various other duties as assigned.
  • Organization and maintenance of office filing systems and documents.
  • Assisting in special projects on an as needed basis such as taking notes at Program Advisory Committees. 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of a one-year certificate in office professions, business, accounting or a related field and three years full time office experience. 
  • Related professional experience will be considered in lieu of formal education. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have outstanding computer skills to include proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and database applications
  • Able to interpret and apply administrative policies and procedures. 
  • Well organized and thorough. 
  • Able to work well with little supervision and relate well to a diverse student and faculty population.

  • Compensation for this 12-month position is $30,160
