Job Description

The Associate Director, Immunology Insights (RA/Gout) will help commercial teams understand the factors that drive anakinra and uricase use.  They will develop comprehensive performance narratives and present them to leadership.  They will work closely with cross functional partners to integrate perspectives and develop tactics. They will inform data strategy in collaboration with our Commercial Data Management team.  They will perform ad-hoc analyses against raw data and build dashboards for field and sales executives.  They will maintain relationships across sales, marketing, finance, and market access pulling insights from these critical functions into their overall narrative.  They will support the launch of a new gout asset and manage a mature Rheumatoid Arthritis asset. 

The role will report to the Associate Director, Commercial Intelligence and Analytics as part of the Customer Experience Insights & Operations (CxI&O) team for North America. The CxI&O team is focused on ensuring we elevate the experience for our customers internally and externally through integration across sales, marketing, and market access. The Commercial Intelligence and Analytics team is responsible for performance reporting, competitive intelligence, and forecasting across all brands/therapeutic areas in North America.

**Please note this is a hybrid remote position with occasional travel.  The ideal candidate will live in the Boston area, coming into the Waltham office 1-2 days per week and working remotely otherwise. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically, to build alliances cross-functionally, and the flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely to all levels of the organization
  • Design and improve business visualization dashboards to facilitate a single view of performance
  • Lead thinking for data needs, KPI definition, and data mart requirements
  • Produce regular reports, presentations, and executive summaries to communicate findings, recommendations, and implications for the organization
  • Construct and present cohesive performance narratives to leadership, clearly articulating trends in the context of potential root causes and counter-measures  
  • Proactively reach out to cross functional colleagues for their observations and ideas to generate meaningful insights that incorporate sales, marketing, competitive intelligence, primary research, and market access factors 
  • Provide forward thinking leadership and vision to the insights function … in addition to understanding what has happened in the past, consider what questions we should be asking to shape the future and what we as an insights function can do to foster those changes.
  • Incorporate Competitive Intelligence dynamics in Situational Assessment readouts and proactively alert commercial leadership to changes and their implications 
  • Partner with franchise teams to guide market research efforts, including providing results associated with strategic implications to the key internal stakeholders.  Incorporate findings into performance narratives.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses for key issues that may impact the key Franchise strategies and decisions, such as defining patient segmentation, patient journey, demand studies, brand positioning and messaging, etc.
  • Own brand forecasting models with an understanding of rationale behind current assumptions for both short term and long-term forecasts
  • Conduct ad-hoc analytics using raw and transformed data sets

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of experience in the pharma/biotech industry in a commercial or consulting role
  • 3+ years working with pharmaceutical data sets including claims, DDD, and 867/852 data
  • Mature SQL and data analytics skills, with comfort accessing data across a variety of platforms
  • Experience with Tableau or similar BI tool
  • Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and creativity in problem solving
  • Aptitude and interest in CI, primary research, and forecasting in the pharmaceutical space
  • Excellent strategy, planning and execution skills with proven ability to prioritize work to drive results
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional colleagues and leadership teams to drive results in a matrixed management operating environment
  • Highly developed commercial and business acumen; an ability to recognize growth and profitability opportunities and capitalize on them
  • Ability to understand, analyze and assimilate complex issues, draw correct conclusions and formulate clear strategy and policies
  • Ability to interact effectively with, and present verbally and in writing to, all levels of the organization

The base salary pay range for this role is $150,000-$190,000 annually. Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for a competitive 401k match, short and long-term incentives, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD and life insurance benefits, in addition to other health and wellness programs and offerings.
