How you’ll contribute: 
As an Actuarial student you’ll be responsible for deliverables encompassing our variable annuities and flagship registered-indexed-linked-annuity product, Shield. This position will support the Liability Analysis and Services team and will be responsible for production and analysis used to inform hedging related reporting, attribution and strategy.

 

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Be responsible for monthly production of reserves and CTE calculation for variable annuities and shield products in Pathwise environment. Provide support for production of attribution results, sensitivity grids and any ad hoc runs.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for our attribution, sensitivity and hedging analyses.
  • Assist with hedging analysis, including sensitivity testing, attribution, and forward-looking estimation for our variable annuities and flagship registered-indexed-linked-annuity product, Shield.
  • Involved in analysis to identify, measure and propose solutions to the hedge strategy and review hedge performance.
  • Become an expert in our liability models, and can perform model updates, model testing, model review and investigation as needed.
  • Analyze drivers of results and communicate to management.
  • Create and improve analytical tools and processes to enhance efficiency.

 

We’re looking for people who have: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or Finance.
  • At least 1 actuarial exam passed for the Society of Actuaries.
  • Strong computing and programming skills, Python preferred.
  • Experience with SQL database query preferred.
  • Experience with actuarial modeling software, PathWise preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong project management skills; Detail and process oriented.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Conceptual and analytical skills to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in business priorities and deadlines.
