Description: 

The Actuarial Analyst will play a critical role in driving strategic underwriting decisions that impact both business operations and overall company growth. The focus of this role will be on leveraging data-driven insights to shape underwriting strategies and improve program performance. This position is ideal for a candidate with experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) actuarial and reinsurance analytics, who excels at collaborating with senior leaders, carrier partners, and cross-functional teams. The ability to translate complex analytical concepts into actionable business insights is essential for success in this role.

Requirements


· Reinsurance Strategy: Work with product group to identify client needs and develop additional opportunities related to reinsurance products and reinsurance strategy.

· Strategic Insights & Collaboration: Partner with business leaders, carrier program managers, and actuaries to deliver quarterly insights, presenting key findings and actionable recommendations that drive performance improvements.

· Targets/Measurement: Collaborate with carriers, management, and external actuaries to establish key program assumptions, including development factors, expense loads, profit agreements, and target metrics.

· Analytical Leadership: Improve on and execute a company-wide strategy for analytics in close collaboration with stakeholders, positioning the organization for continuous growth and innovation.

· Pricing & Risk Modeling: Work with business unit leaders to implement pricing enhancements, refine risk scoring models, and improve rating tools that support accurate underwriting and risk assessment.

· Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct "what-if" scenario and ad-hoc analyses for internal stakeholders (such as business leaders and senior leadership) as well as external partners (such as carrier partners), offering deep insights and data-driven solutions.

· Data Strategy & Governance: Collaborate with data teams to assist in improvement of data structures, governance, key performance metrics (KPIs), and data warehouse / policy admin/claims systems, enabling seamless data-driven decision-making.

· Collaboration with Actuaries & Consultants: Partner with third-party actuaries, consultants, interns, and academic institutions to develop innovative analytical tools and methodologies that enhance the value of DOXA’s data environment.

  

Qualifications

· Nearing Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society Certification (ACAS) completion

·  5+ years of experience in P&C insurance with a focus on actuarial analytics

· Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) is a plus

· Robust understanding of Underwriting pricing techniques 

· Advanced working knowledge of reinsurance and related contracts and products

· Strong programming skills, with proficiency in Python, R, VBA, SQL or similar programming languages

· Experience in Catastrophe Modeling (CAT) is highly desirable

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and insights to semi-technical business audiences

· A collaborative and relationship-focused mindset, capable of working effectively with carrier partners, business leaders, actuaries, and other stakeholders
