About The Role


As the Accounting & Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in defining the Accounting & Operations function(s) at Revv, and be responsible for oversight over the bookkeeping team and month-end close, collaborating with stakeholders across departments to achieve desired financial results, driving efficiency through the accounting practice, managing external audit and tax teams, as well as devising and documenting accounting, finance, and operational processes. You would be reporting to the Director of Accounting & Operations, and collaborate with them on a wide variety of policy-setting, operational, accounting and financial reporting tasks to meet the needs of the organization. 


The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Director to create a best-in-class accounting function in a fast-growing environment, using SaaS tools to drive efficiencies, while also being able to roll up your sleeves and make up-front manual investments to design and drive subsequent automation. 


This role is wide scope and dynamic and is a perfect match for someone who is a highly skilled generalist and is still exploring their interests across accounting, finance, and operations. This position has high visibility to the executive team and provides the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other departments.


Responsibilities

  • Run the monthly close process, managing a team of out-sourced accountants.

  • Set the foundation for the organization’s control environment by drafting business processes narratives, accounting policy memos and flowcharts.

  • Assist the Director in managing external parties, such as auditors and tax professionals, as well as creating and provisioning materials related to monthly investor reporting, audit completion, and due diligence requests.

  • Work cross-functionally with data engineering counterparts to promote internal control, and completeness and accuracy of downstream reporting built and used by the accounting function.

  • Collaborate with the Director and outsourced operations team to drive automation in the procurement and AP function using Ramp, as well as create policy and processes related to operations such as but not limited to: Creating employee onboarding guides and enforcing access control procedures.

  • Support the Director with the upscaling Revv’s Stripe and QBO instances, creation maintenance of the customer subledger, and application of ASC 606.

  • Support the Director and Chief of Staff with FP&A tasks when needed.

  • Act as a true business partner by demonstrating genuine interest in the financial success and business continuity of Revv, and offering innovative solutions to improve reporting and business workflows. 


Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience

  • 1+ years of experience in a manger role (i.e. a senior associate managing associates at a PA firm, or managing a staff or bookkeeping team in industry)

  • Bachelor’s degree and CPA

  • Thorough understanding of ASC 606, 350, and US GAAP in general

  • Experience with significant financial events and transitions

  • High attention to detail and a compulsion for governance, documentation, and best practices

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting topics for other stakeholders

  • Ability to work autonomously after given a clear objective and support

  • A desire to be hands-on with all levels of the accounting function, from drafting adjusting journal entries, to automation of processes using out-of-the-box SaaS tools, as well as working with engineering to develop proprietary tools when necessary

  • Adaptable and nimble, with the ability to pivot between ad-hoc tasks, while also managing long-term projects and initiatives.
