About the Team:
The AlphaSense Finance team is responsible for efficiently driving the creation of enterprise value by supporting capital allocation decisions across the business. We exist to help the company make intelligent, data-driven decisions through financial analysis; scenario modeling; tracking, interpreting and disseminating key performance indicators; and by serving as a critical thought partner to senior leadership.
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Manager to join our dynamic accounting team. In this role, you will oversee the monthly and year-end close processes and manage the Accounts Payable (AP) team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies, and deadlines. The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting professional with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of financial close processes, and a focus on improving AP efficiency.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 5-9 years of relevant experience.
- CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and relevant accounting standards.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Excel and Netsuite preferred.
What You’ll Do:
- Support the accounting team during the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and management reports.
- Work with other departments to gather necessary information for accurate financial reporting.
- Monitor and improve the close timeline and processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation for external auditors.
- Oversee and manage the Accounts Payable team, providing guidance and support on day-to-day AP tasks.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments.
- Review AP transactions for accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation.
- Improve AP workflows to streamline operations and reduce processing times.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
For base compensation, we set standard ranges for all US-based roles based on function, level and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies and internal comparables. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including geographic location as well as candidate experience/expertise and may vary from the amounts listed below.
