The Accounting Auditor at A-Basin verifies the sales activity of the business, ensuring that our records are accurate and free from fraud. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and audits records, reports findings, and looks for improvements.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Review all sales activity from the prior day’s business, utilizing electronic reporting, cash receipts, and paper backup, on a daily basis
- Identify any instances of deviation from company sales policies or best practices, whether intentional or accidental; enter correcting transactions as needed
- Produce a written daily sales audit report and distribute it to relevant managers; investigate and escalate serious issues to management immediately
- Understand, interpret, and help clarify sales best practices to managers and sales agents; provide supplemental training to sales areas as needed
- Prepare and distribute the daily skier visit report and daily skier forecast
- Maintain adequate cash banks throughout the ski area, including regular change orders and periodic audits of sales location banks
- Record cash receipts, prepare bank deposits, and reconcile weekly deposits
- Support sales operations with cash assistance and basic troubleshooting of sales or technological issues
- Escalate sales or technological issues for resolution, utilizing internal and external resources
- Investigate, document, and respond to credit card disputes with assistance from the Accounting Manager
- Assist (as needed) with administrative tasks in the accounting department including filing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll documents; assistance with accounts payable check distribution; sorting and distributing mail
- Coordinate with the Accounting Manager to ensure adequate reporting and cash coverage on days off
- Maintain procedure manuals for all major areas of responsibility
- Follows all department sustainability and safety guidelines
- Perform other tasks and projects as assigned
Requirements
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements:
- Cash-handling or retail sales experience – preferred
Skills Required:
- Honesty, integrity, and impeccable business ethics
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to use data from various sources; ability to think critically to ensure accuracy in work product
- Professional communication with peers and superiors
- Excellent computer skills; intermediate or better Excel skills; ability to learn new software program
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to withstand high-altitude conditions at all times
- Ability to navigate stairs
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. while using proper lifting technique
Other Requirements:
- Schedule flexibility around month-end and quarter-end closes
Work Environment:
This position will mostly work indoors – in an office setting while using a computer. This role works in an office located in a high-alpine environment in all types of weather conditions.
