About this role

As the second hire on the Accounting team at Waymark, you will report to the Head of Finance and work closely with the Finance teams to develop and maintain corporate controls and policies that support Waymark's mission, vision, and high growth trajectory. You will assist in creating, collaborating across the organization on, and implementing financial insights and scalable processes. You will be a key player as we build Waymark infrastructure for Medicaid patients. Additionally, you will ensure continued compliance with GAAP and applicable rules, regulations, and laws. You will be crucial in building accounting and finance operations that create the foundation for the company.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the day-to-day management of GL functions, such as cash, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses.Assist in preparing timely, complete, and accurate financial records for month, quarter, and annual-close reporting.

  • Own the administration of our credit card program, T&E, and employee expense reimbursement process and respond promptly to AP inbox inquiries.
  • Process and administer both exempt and non-exempt payroll on time, including monthly reconciliation and fielding employee inquiries.
  • Assist with requests related to the annual audit
  • Work closely alongside the Accounting Lead to build and develop critical processes within the accounting department as the company continues to grow

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related degree and 2+ years of relevant experience (CPA a plus)
  • Experience reconciling general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance within GAAP.
  • Have assisted in preparing month-end and year-end financial statements and reports. 
  • Desire to be great. A great attitude and ambition to put in the required work to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to make an impact.

  • Humble awareness when to ask for help

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Passion for improving care for Medicaid patients
  • Experience working in early-stage high-growth environments
  • Enthusiasm to build, lead, and innovate
  • Experience with Ramp, Carta, and enterprise financial systems (Netsuite a plus!)

Salary Range:  

US employees in New York City, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $119,000.00 - $155,000.00 USD

US employees in Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, San Diego & Washington DC: $112,000.00 - $145,000.00 USD

US employees outside of the above listed US Cities: $104,000.00 - $135,000.00 USD .  

Additionally, compensation will depend on other factors, including job location, training, education, and experience.

Benefits and Other Compensation: Medical, vision, dental, basic life insurance, and stock options available for the hired applicant.  Employees also receive twenty (20) vacation days, accrued over the year and eleven (11) paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Sixteen (16) weeks of parental leave for birthing parents will also be available for use after successful completion of 6 months of employment, eight (8) weeks of bonding leave for non-birthing parents.  Employees are able to enroll in our 401(k) plan and commuter benefits plan.
