Location:

This is a hybrid role out of Ferguson's corporate offices in Newport News, VA, in accordance with the Ferguson flex schedule, 3 days in office / 2 remote. Consideration may be given to a remote candidates outside of the Hampton Roads area.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and/or review the reconciliation of accounts, post journal entries and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules so that the organization has a full and accurate statement of its financial position.

  • Work in assigned areas at the enterprise level which may include, but are not limited to, freight accounting, inventory accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

  • Participate in scheduled accounting cycles and adhere to associated deadlines (e.g. month-end, year-end, etc.).

  • Prepare assigned Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) controls and IUC ensuring compliance with internal controls policies.

  • Check and analyze financial information and prepare more complex financial reports and accounting statements so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making financial decisions.

  • Review financial reports and accounting statements to ensure their accuracy.

  • Manage, operate, and participate in two company-wide inventory audits.

  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.

  • Serve as contact for HQ and field operational requests for both internal and external audits submitting ongoing deliverables and conducting walk throughs as needed.

  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field strongly desired or equivalent, proven work experience in Accounting.

  • 3-5+ years of accounting and/or audit experience (sophisticated large size organization ideal).

  • Knowledge of US GAAP; cost accounting a plus.

  • Experience with financial and accounting reporting systems, specifically Oracle.

  • Distribution and/or retail experience a plus.

  • CPA a plus.

Pay Range:

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$3,899.70 - $6,325.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
