Technology Aspect
Stellar Virtual is committed to ensuring our employees have the tools they need to succeed in a virtual work environment. To support your role effectively, we provide a company-issued laptop, equipped with the necessary software, security features, and internal support. This does not apply to Independent Contractors (1099), seasonal, or unpaid individuals.

Employment with Stellar Virtual is on an at-will basis (only W2 employment types), meaning either the employee or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice, subject to applicable laws. Position Name: Academic Compliance Specialist

Position Overview
The Academic Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Stellar Virtual adheres to all state, federal, and accreditation requirements related to academic compliance. This role involves monitoring policies, maintaining accurate records, and supporting educators and administrators in meeting compliance obligations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • One Number: 100% Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable education regulations, including state and federal guidelines, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of compliance-related documents, audits, and reports.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Provide training and guidance to educators and administrators on compliance requirements, deadlines, and best practices.
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections to identify potential compliance issues.
  • Compile and analyze compliance-related data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is readily available.
  • Work closely with academic and operational teams to ensure compliance measures align with instructional goals and student success.
  • Other duties as assigned by the department leader or Vice President of Academics. 


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in academic compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related field, preferably in a virtual education setting.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite/Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Drive) for document management and data analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal education regulations, including FERPA, IDEA, and accreditation requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple deadlines.


Education & Certification Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Education, Admin, Compliance, or a related field is required.
  • A valid and active state-based teaching license.
