Hybrid fixed are roles that are a blend of onsite work/in-person interactions with some ability to work remotely and require employees to live within a commutable distance and be onsite fixed days each week.

Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.

Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary

PSEG is looking for an Intern for the Gas Asset Strategy.


Gas System Design Intern, working on PSE&G’s gas main replacement program and assisting in regulatory compliance reviews.


This position will be Hybrid Fixed.
 

Job Responsibilities

Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:
•    Perform system simulation studies, including retrieving historical data from the company’s SCADA system.
•    Assist in the company’s Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP) risk modeling analysis and data quality reviews.
•    Review construction proposals and pipeline supplier interconnect agreements
•    Ensure regulatory compliance
•    Complete tasks furthering Best Practices and other ongoing Key Initiatives
•    Conduct engineering work utilizing engineering principles and practices and adapting it to the assigned discipline in support of work planning and facilities design of natural gas system requirements associated with the Gas System Modernization Program (GSMP) and the Infrastructure Advancement Program (IAP)
•    Coordinate and review work of engineers and technicians assigned to the discipline
•    Provide technical assistance in implementing special programs and new processes
•    Provide technical support and problem resolution during system activities
•    Review data quality and provide updates and reports as needed

Job Specific Qualifications

Required education/skills: The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in engineering and graduating between December 2025 and May 2028. Students graduating in May/June 2025 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2025. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Candidates must have completed freshman level course work for consideration.

 

Because this position will require traveling to various PSEG locations, a valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.

 

Preferred: 

•    3.0 GPA


All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed. Housing, transportation, and immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
