Position Overview:

The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. The opportunities with the Human Health Digital, Data and Analytics (HHDDA) team can provide you with a great opportunity to showcase your skills and see if we are the right company for your career goals.

The Forecasting Capabilities team within Integrated Research and Forecasting (IRF) is seeking summer interns who can leverage statistics, data science, and AI, to develop high-quality forecasts and visualizations that help drive decision making across the organization. 

You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand forecasting use cases and enhance existing solutions or build new solutions.

Learning opportunities for the prospective intern include:

  • Professional Development: The intern will gain hands-on experience in forecasting, data analytics, data visualization development, AI applications, and stakeholder management in a professional setting.

  • Networking Opportunities: The intern will have the opportunity to work with a team of professionals and experts, building a strong network and potential references for their future career.

  • Contribution to an Innovative Project: The intern will contribute to an innovative project with practical real-world application.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a full-time BS/BA, MS, or PHD degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, computer science, or a related discipline.

  • Must have completed at least (2) years of studies towards a Bachelor’s degree by June 2025

Preferred Skills:

  • Candidates must be able to commit to full-time onsite (or hybrid if applicable) employment for 10 - 12 weeks beginning June 2025

  • Candidates should have Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.

  • Experience in working with data, time series forecasting (univariate and multivariate), and predictive modeling (Random Forest, XGBoost, etc) using Python.

  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling techniques and methodologies. Ability to work with large datasets and apply statistical models to derive actionable insights and predictions.

  • Knowledge of attention based large language models (LLMs) and their application to natural language processing (NLP) and time series forecasting.

  • Candidates should have some understanding of GenAI and prompt engineering. 

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI/ Qlik/ Spotfire or other BI technologies is preferred. 

  • Candidates should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

 

Expected salary range:

$39,600.00-$105,500.00
