Salary Range:

$52,500.00 - $61,000.00 USD annually.

The ASU Preparatory Academy Digital Social Worker will contribute to the creation and implementation of a comprehensive school guidance program, which promotes and enhances academic, personal, social, and career development for students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master’s degree in social work from an accredited institution. Official transcript(s) required. 

  • Valid license as a Social Worker (LCSW, LMSW) in the residing state required, AZ preferred.

  • Residing State Department of Education Certificate in Social Work, required before hire date.

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in social work or a related field in K-12 school setting.

  • Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. 

  • Spanish bilingual, preferred but not required.

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complies with State statutes, Board policies, administrative procedures and regulations. 

  • Completes assessments and gathers data for multidisciplinary evaluations to include parental consents, developmental histories, adaptive behavior scales, classroom observations.

  • Conducts home site visits as directed by the directors.

  • Establishes and facilitates Olweus anti-bullying group.

  • Establishes and facilitates SEL curriculum as directed by the directors.

  • Provides short-term counseling to students, i.e., maintains records, facilitates referrals to appropriate institutions, responds to requests for counseling in a timely manner by phone, email, text and other available online technologies.

  • Participates in crisis intervention services as requested by site administrators, i.e., responds in a timely manner to crisis situations, assumes leadership or guidance roles as requested, facilitates referrals to appropriate agencies for needed follow-up as appropriate. 

  • Provides direct social work assistance to children and their families, i.e., is available to meet with parents and schools staff (virtually and/or in person as needed) to determine student/family needs, make contacts with appropriate agencies/resources to address needs follows through with parents and/or agencies to ensure services received, maintains documentation of services provided for students/families.

  • Provides professional development training and assistance to staff on topics related to child development, community resources, social/behavioral management.

  • Provides support to other staff in supervising community service hours, orientation webinars and events, and other outreach activities to ASU Prep at the direction of the directors.

  • Attends scheduled student ILC conferences and provides appropriate follow-up on MDC recommendations 

  • Conducts appropriately toward staff and parents and exhibits self-control and good judgment. 

  • Submits an annual and monthly report as requested by the Director of Student Advisement, i.e., submits documentation in a timely manner, follows adopted procedures and standards. 

  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of legal and ethical practices and guidelines in Counseling.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of community information and referral services.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of school policies and procedures, community linkages and referrals for student supportive services.  

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong clinical skills.

  • Knowledge of family systems, child and adolescent mental health, and adoption issues. 

  • Ability to articulate, represent professional demeanor and ability to take initiative.
