General Overview:

Applications are sought for a scientific co-op opportunity in Vaccine Process Research and Development within our Research Laboratories. The candidate will work within the Bioprocess Clinical Manufacturing & Technology department’s Automation Team to implement Dynamic Equipment Connectivity Dashboard on Ignition SCADA application. We are seeking a candidate who is enthusiastic, innovative, and capable of building user-friendly solutions.

Specific Job Requirements:

Under the direction of the Project Manager, the candidate is expected to design and develop a centralized platform that provides a unified view of equipment status for all ongoing pilot plant activities in a single screen. The individual is expected to make recommendations for implementation and begin working with Automation team to execute implementation plan. They will consolidate data from various sources and systems to offer real-time and comprehensive visibility to different groups. In the second phase, the candidate will enhance the platform's interface by incorporating dynamic equipment status display functionality tailored to the specific campaign.

The candidate is expected to function mainly with the automation team but collaborate with stake holders including Equipment, Process, and Process Operation within the Biologics Pilot Plant. The candidate is expected to demonstrate the ability to communicate results of their work in both verbal and written formats. In addition to the core responsibilities outlined above, the candidate will be expected to keep careful notes, comply with all required training, and maintain a focused attention on safety for themselves and their team.

Required Education and Experience:

• Candidates must be enrolled in a minimum of a BS/BA in: Information Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical/Chemical Engineering, or relevant discipline.

• Candidates must be familiar with Python and Database query.

• Candidates must be available to work full-time for up to 6 months.

• Candidates should be highly motivated and driven, willing to take initiative to learn new skills and excited to implement new technologies.

• Candidate should be a strong team player.

• Candidate should be able to balance the needs of multiple disciplines when implementing new technologies.

• Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Experience with programming languages.
